Hi I recently purchased 2 new angel fish i have been keeping them in a quarantine tank for the last two weeks and a few days (about 4) ago i noticed that both of them are showing signs of ragged plectoral fins. Just at the edge of the plectoral fins there are some white lumps, these lumps have not increased in size nor have the dissappered. Does anyone know what this might be, my first thoughs was Ich but my experience of Ich in the past is that the condition gets worse and the white spots begin to spread over the body, this is not occurring so now i am very confused. Can anyone help?? :-(

PS if it helps i can try and get a pic

is it just the tin? what about their body do they have white lump on them as well? If yes its white spot but even on just tin it still could be white spot if u could do a test of ur water and give us more information that would be great.

yes it is just the plectoral fins, one has it only on one fin the other has it on both fins. no marks anywhere else on the body, water conditions are as follows

ammonia = 0
nitrite = 0
nitrate = 10
ph is 7.2
temp is 25 / 77 degrees

if it is Ich when is the best time to treat the tank and what would you recommend using, also is it better to turn the filter off during medication?? and do i need to remove the plants frfom the tank along with the other decor??

the lumps are small and do not resemble any of the images from that link with regards to Lymphocystis, or any other. i am going to try and get a photo showing you the fish hopefully that way you guys may have a better chance at identifying the problem
