I just found out last night that the girl i gave my silver shark to a while back, knows absalutly nothing about keeping tropical fish.
I was talking to a good mate of mine who i know her through, who told me that the other day they were given a puffer fish for there aquarium. Im not really sure what she has, i just know she has my silver shark, a common plec and some angels. ( i dont think they actually go together well but it was her decision to have them.) She put the puffer in with them and funnily enough it attacked and killed quite a few of the angels, Aparently. But the anoying thing is that instead of taking it to her LFS, she flushed it down the toilet!!! She said she was trying to kill it.
I also have an empty 10g tank thats just finished its cycle, so it could have come to me.
I cant believe the stupid *****. But how do you tell them? you cant!!
Also my friend who told me last night is starting to set up a tank, and she found it hilarius!! That P****d me off too.
I just thought id share my sick story with you guys.

I gave a tank setup to a friend several years back. Very basic 20 gallon with some platys and three pygmy corys. Whenever her fish get sick she flushes them and it breaks my heart cause tho she has since gotten a bunch of new fish I still feel it is all my fault. :(

I still go over and do water changes for her on occasion for the poor little fishies and lets see she was 22 so five years since I gave her the tank.

It makes me mad too  Flushing live fish - let me put it this way, I would have some choice words for someone I knew who did that.

And if people can't be bothered doing the work needed to look after their fish, why bother keeping them?

It's sad that people flush live fish. I think part of the problem with people not taking care of tanks is that when they buy one as a newbie, they don't have a clue as to what all is involved in maintaining one. I know I was clueless when I started. I went strictly by what the book that came with the tank which said to fill the tank, add water, wait something like 3 days and add 1/3 of the fish. Naturally, my ammonia and nitrite were high very shortly after that. Fortunately I found this site the first week I had fish in the tank and got a lot of good advice. A lot of people don't take the time to do any research when things to go wrong. Flushing is their simple way out.

poor sewerage water over her head, slap her round the face a few times, knock her head against the floor like a basketball, then spin her round 50 times.

Then ask her if she enjoyed the experience of being "flushed"

stupid b***h..

LOL Brilliant idea ben, i just hope the little puffer gets its own back by biting somthig it shouldnt. After coming back up the pipes i meen.
I wish i didnt give her my silver shark, by the sounds of things she would have had a better life in the 16g that was way to small than be homed with that murdering cow. She also thinks that when she plays her music really loud that its dancing to the music, she obviously doesnt know that they are very sensative to noise and she is defening the poor thing.
