Fish Crazy
well my pond was practically cycled last week with the water parameters of:
NitrIte 0
Ammonia 0.50
NitrAte 0
PH 7.6
I added a chemical that detoxifies Ammonia, and chlorine, then I added my 2 convicts, and 2 plecos since they are pretty strong fish. Next day when I went to feed the plecos with the algae wafers, I accidentally emptied the rest of the bag in there (about 15-20 wafers) Rolling Eyes . So I thought I will get them before I leave, and sure enough I forgot all about it. I went up today, after my dad has been feeding them everyday, and saw aload of wafers with white puffy stuff on them, and they smelled really bad, so i scooped them all out. I then tested the water, and I got:
NitrIte 0.50
Ammonia 0.50
NitrAte 5
PH 7.6
I put the chemical in the pond that detoxifies Ammonia and chlorine. The thing is do you think that my fish will be Ok? Since I put some food in there today before I saw these disgusting wafers, and tested the water do you think it will be ok if I dont feed them for a couple of days?
