Poly Boxes & Fish Bags

Where do you get yours from?

I have never seen anywhere selling poly boxes? Also, when I asked my LFS if i could get some bags they said they could only use them for the fish they sell and couldnt give me any or let me buy them

i just use normal cardboard boxes lined with polystyrene you can buy big poly sheets from wicks to line the boxes then pack around the fish bag with shredded news paper

go to your local fruit and veg shop and ask for a polystyrene box with a lid thats where all thier stock comes packed in to keep it fresh, thats what i do the guy just gives them to me for free, they just get thrown out anyway.

You might ask at the drug store too. Some medicine is shipped in them.

If you are in the US, Kens Fish is an excellent source of bags and other supplies.

Strong zip lock freezer bags from Tesco and other supermarkets make good cheap fish bags. oftn used them to bring fish home from private breeders on public transport. Never had any problems even for journeys up to 2 hours

I actually get my stock of fish bags from Petco. Every time I buy a plant or plants from them I ask if I can have a few of the bags. I tell them I breed fish and use the bags to transport fry to other shops or aquarium owners. I haven't gotten a NO yet from them.

Ask your local shop about boxes, they usually just throw them out.

I wondered this. This is why I'm keeping the one my Pygmys came in on Friday. You never know when these things will come in handy!
