well as soon as i upgrade 2 of my tanks i will have an empty 10 gal. originaly i was going for a nano reef tank. then i began to think money may not allow this. then i started thinking about brackish which im still doing research on. i only have room for one......if my mom would let me have one in the living room i would if i would have enough money. so which do you think i should get. :dunno:

I went for brackish because marine and freshwater setups are so common, i think it would be nice to have somthing a bit different from everyone else. There are always alot of brackish fish being rehomed all the time from freshwater setups, so you could rescue a few fish as well or get some for free

i do agree that marine and fresh water are very common. there is only one place in my town that i know of that carries brackish fish and its only one tank at that.if i go marine the fish i want is a percula clown and a purple firefish along with invertabrates and corals. if i go brackish im going for a figure 8 puffer and 2 bumble bee goppies......if i can put that many in a 10 gal and they are compatible, like i said im still researching.

10gals is very small for a marine tank, you'd be looking at one or 2 very small fish max- a tank that small is also going to very hard to maintain as a marine tank. This forum also has a buy/sell section remember so check out whats on offer on it as there could be some unusual brackish fish for sale near you :) .

Brackish will be much easier to maintain from what I can gather :)

thanks. with a lot of thought i have decided i will go with a brackish tank. from what ive seen so far the brackish will be much cheaper. im still doing research on brackish tanks though of course.
