Thanks to eveyone who helped answer my questions regarding the various species. I have narrowed by choices to the following
Stocking Scheme 1 - Two Contrasting Schools
( 8 ) Harlequin Rasbora
( 6 ) Golden Danio
( 3 ) Sunburst Wag Tail Platy
( 6 ) Red Cherry Shrimp
This would probobablly be my first choice IF I could be reasonable confident that the schooling fish would actually school in lower numbers and in a relatively small tank. Otherwise, my choice is
Stocking Scheme 2 - One Big School
(12) Harlequin Rasbora
( 3 ) Sunburst Wag Tail Platy
( 6 ) Red Cherry Shrimp
A bigger school may actually be prettier and demonstrate better schooling behavior. Although without the danios to stir things up, I'm not sure the rasbora would school much even with the larger number.
Anyone want to vote on which scheme they would choose?
