Polaris - The New Betta

As some of you may know by now, my red male betta, Torque, passed away today due to a foolish mistake on my part. He will be greatly missed. I've been rather depressed all day because of it, so my boyfriend asked me if I wanted to take a trip to our lfs and look at the fishies. I said yes...and while we were there, I found a new friend...a gorgeous shortfin male betta. I've named him Polaris, and he is currently residing with my two swordtails in one of our 10 gallons. So, here are some pictures of him. Enjoy.

Umm... hate to burst your bubble... but that's a girl. You can see the egg spot in most of those pics.

I've seen some massive females in walmart before that looked something like that. Being walmart they weren't labeled as anything special, so I can't say for sure what they were, but maybe you have a female giant?

She's gotta be a giant. She's bigger than all my males. She's at least 2 1/2 - 3 inches long excluding the fins...AT LEAST! She's huge!
