Hi! Any help in identifying this plant would be very much appreciated as I am not sure what to expect from this plant as well as a good aquarium location for it.  Thanks so much!

I cannot tell from the photo what this might be.  How is it structured?  By this, I mean, are there independent stems (not growing from the same stock), or is there a crown, or a rhizome...?  A photo of the entire plant with roots would help.

Here are some more pictures...

the stems seem kind of "woody" and when I pulled the plant out of the pot it was basically a grouping of about 3 "branches" and then 2 smaller ones.  I hope I'm describing it well.

.

I hope these pictures help.  Thanks so much for your trouble.

This has been stumped.  But the photos are fine, and hopefully someone will be able to suggest the name.

Did the store have no identification at all for this plant?

Unfortunately, the plant was only labled as "aquatic plant". Thank you for trying though!
