I'm just wondering about these fish. They seem interesting and I'm wondering would one be happy on his/her own, what type etc. I'll have 3 platys, 1 molly and 3 corys along with it. :good:

I'v a 10 gal but looking to upgrade Lilfishie. I had 4 corys but lost one yesterday. I plan on upping their numbers.

what size are you upgrding to? and are you moving all these over?

sorry to hear about the loss of your cory

Well figure out what your recent loss was caused by, get the water tested, check your equipment etc... Then up your Corydoras numbers. Last thing you want to do is add fish to a troubled tank :good:

Pitbull Pleco or Parotocinclus jumbo stay small (around 2" max I think) If you were to upgrade it would give you much more choice. But better to upgrade first then buy a suitable Pleco rather than the other way around.

Edit: I believe this particular plecostomus likes to live in groups, like your Corydoras

James.

Thanks guys. I'm planning a 180 litre so I'll wait til that happens. I've tested everything and all seems fine.

Any pleco up to 4-6" sort of size will be fine. Plecos are territorial, especially males, but also quite social. If you go for a smaller species and make sure there's at least one suitable cave per individual + 1-5 spare caves, then you should be able to keep a group. For a 100 cm, 180 litre aquarium, 1m 1f bristlenoses should be ok, assuming you have 4 caves or so.

It is perfectly plausible to keep plecos individually, but all the ones I have ever had seemed to do better in small groups.

check out clown plecos, they are cool looking and small. (but do need wood to munch on)
I would personally go so far as to say *all* plecos need bogwood or a similarly soft wood in their tanks.

Ok guys, I'll certainly hang on until I get my tank as I want wood, plants and caves in it. Thanks for all the advice! ;)
