Hi, I saw this forum while looking up Hong Kong Pleco on Google and thought with all of the pro's on here I might get a sensible response!!!!!

I have a 35 litre coldwater tank, and I want to get either a Pleco or a snail to munch algae. I also seem to have a rather wide mouthed pearlscale which has tended to bully/gobble minnows in the past, so I wanted something of a reasonable size ! ( I feed the hungry blighters daily/every other day)

Any advice??

thanks!

35 litre... that's not much volume. a common plec is definitly out. I'm not sure what the gallonage is of that tank but you might be able to get away with a rubbernose plec or some ottos. Check out the minimum tank sizes before you get anything.

EDIT: I just thought of something. You said coldwater right? That means that rubbernose and otto's are probably out. Sorry

Another option for algae control is shrimp.

There are other ways to control your algae.
