I have an albino bristle nose pleco and I just bought him yesterday and he/she looks fine but I know it has to get acclimated...now I have gravel substrate because sand was to much to clean and it clogged up my filter so this can be the only thing that is not beneficial for my pleco other then that I'd like to know how you can tell if your pleco is happy...

A happy pleco will always be chewing away at the various surfaces. Make sure it has a cave it can go into to hide when it wants. Gravel is fine, as long as it doesn't have sharp edges. Sand is best for burrowing fish and fish that root around in the substrate, ie., cories, loaches and eels. A piece of drift wood for him to gnaw at may help also. They don't eat it like some species, but do seem to appreciate it.
