I've heard plenty of stories of Plecos eating and chewing on live aquarium plants.
I'm getting a new larger 75 gallon aquarium soon and want to plant it.
What kinds of plants are sturdy and hardy enough for a pleco not to destroy?
By the way, my pleco is about 9 1/2 inches long, a big boy.

And would you recommend fine gravel or sand to plant them in? I didn't know with the Pleco rooting around in the gravel bed if he could uproot the plants easily
with sand as the substrate.
And I'm also going to be stocking the tank with South American and Dwarf cichlids and I know they can be rowdy at times and I want the plants to be
strong enough to take a beating from fast swimming, fish that have tendencys to chase others into the plants.

Advice please?

Thankyou!

i would probably go with something on a hefty bit of wood. Java ferns or Anubias may me a good choice for you.
