Pleco Experts Needed

Right will tell you all i know and i am completely stumped on this one i need to know for the sake of the other fish *more plecs & others*

Perfectly healthy L52 female passed away yesterday, nice big stomach always 1st to the food, always nice and fully coloured *even when i found her!*

Stats all perfect it literally looks like she died 5 minutes before i found her

Removed her from the tank into a small tub, checked her over nothing, i then did a 50% water change on the tank, then went back to the tub and found this!

Now these have only been out of QT a week *Wild caught QT'd 2 weeks before coming to me then 2 weeks with me so 1month*

The other 2 look fine but so did she, i am completely lost on this 1 any help great appreciated!

To clarify, it was alive, you took it out of the tank, you did a WC and it died during the WC (but wasn't in the tank at the time).

Why did you remove it from the tank?
Was it in the tub with other fish? (it looks like it's been in a fight)

no it was dead when i took it out, but still coloured so i left it just incase it was alive, about half way through my water change *about 10min later* i looked and seen this.

Been talking to a breeder and she thinks it could be the male it was about the size of his mouth, he never really liked this female but there's enough caves to avoid each other or so i thought

Ive had plenty of plecs and bigger plecs than that fight but never seen an injury like that

I've never had this issue before either which is why I am clueless

4 weeks is too short for Q of wc plecos, imo. Therefore it is going to be difficult to determine what went wrong. Your pics are not super clear so its hard to see what that discolored area looks like.

It is possible it was injured but it is equally possible there are other problems at work.

Really I was told 4 weeks would be fine? it literally looked like the top layer of skin had come off, the wound itself was very clean, no signs of blood etc just pale flesh

It looks like the skin has just fallen off. I am going to go with a bacterial infection of some kind as if it was an injury, it would not be that clean.
