Im fishless cycling a 33 gallon tank at the moment, its 32 inches wide.

i want to have a catfish/pleco in their as i really like the way they look, i understand they get big though and would like to know which would be suitable for my size tank.

i was told a bristlenose would nt get to big, however i am going to have the tank planted and ive also been told that the bristlenose will eat the plants!

are there any others that wont get to big for the tank?

Have a look at this - its very useful Linky Someone called it 30 plecos to own before you die  As for plant eating - I think I read somewhere that as long as they have enough 'normal' food they leave the plants alone - but dont quote me on that :good:

ETA - my fav so far is the Starlight Bristlenose - Its my mission to find one somewhere for my new tank!!

It would be very hard to stop plecos from following their natural instincts. They are grazers by nature as their food source is not packed with nutrients as a predator would get from eating another animal. So they will continuously scour the tank for food so I would say your never gonna stop the pleco from eating your plants, just have to learn to live with it. And maybe, if the tank is planted heavily enough the casual observer wouldn't notice a leaf or two gone here or there and if it gets bad with a few plants, just replace them as most plants are relativily cheap
