Can someone give me some good ideas for getting more fish as I'm so indecisive!

I have a 100l tank so it's pretty big and currently have two gouramis in it...they're quite happy having all that space to themselves but it looks rather daft. I did have other fish in it besides those two but my mum murdered them all :grr: not personally like but I was on holiday last winter and she was coming in everyday to feed them etc and she didn't make it in one day but figured they'd survive one day without food...they would've....if the temperature hadn't been in the minus and my electricity hadn't run out (!) :byebye: The only surviving ones were the gouramis and so they question I now have.... what other fish shall I get?

My old collection consisted of

2x angels
1x clown loach
2x swordtails
8x neon tetras
+ the gouramis

I loved my loach but I'd obviously get more than 1 next time round. I'd like brightly coloured fish but not really aggressive ones...any suggestions?

I'd say no to the loaches if you want them again, they get BIG. And angels and neons don't go together well. Umm.... livebearers?

Nooo nooo nooo I'd rather not have fry with livebearers (I used to have the swordtails)

I realise the deal with the loaches size but I think my tank is big enough to accomodate at least 2 maybe 3. They only grow massive in the wild, a friend of mines has a tank just for them and the most they've grown to is 5/6inches.

I mean can you give me the names of specific types of fishes  I would post a pic of my tank but I don't have the file attatchment button on here!!!! (can anyone remind me how to get it again?)

Livebearers is probably a good suggestion. Some are quite colourful if you pick the right ones- I have some male guppies that are kinda neon. A lot come with snazzy anal fins as well :D Theyre also quite easy to look after- i have mollies, guppies and swordtails at the mo! Love them  !

Clowns will still reach up to a foot in the tank, and should be kept in groups.

You could go for a school of tetras, there's plenty of species, or perhaps danios.

Depends whether you want active fish or not...

I'd go with a couple of different types of tetra (cardinal and rummy nose are my favourites) but any that grow a couple of inchs will be ok, and a group of corydoras instead of the loaches as they only grow up to 3 inches. That way nothing will outgrow your tank and your fish will be happy.

i wouldnt go for clown loaches.they will get too big.
there is other types of loach that might be ok though.ask in the loach section :p
livebearers are good.small and hardy.
you could have a small shoal of tetras without the angels this time
a group if 4+cories
theres lots of possibilities

Also make sure you don't mix the angels with neons. Neons are natural food for angels. Even if they are not big enough to eat them yet, the neons would be stressed out cuz of them.

Hi cheers for that info guys got 3 mollies the other day and they're doing great :D The gouramis are quite happy with them not bothered at all.

Kajuki18 - the pic you have for your avatar what kind of fish is it coz it looks fantastic! Am I right in thinking its a marine fish?

I don't know how to post a pic on here of my two tanks can anybody help??? :-(
