Please Id And Advise On This Rock

I've been looking for a cheap supply of rocks for my comunity tropical aquarium.

I have an unlimited supply of this rock, BUT is is any good for use in my tank?

I put this peice in a container and poured some white vinegar over it.

There were a few bubbles/slight fizzing from a couple of places on the rock, but 98% of it did nothing, is it ok to use? Should I try one peice and keep an eye on the PH, and go from there.

If it was fizzing, I wouldn't use it. But that's just my opinion. If you want to try it out, go for it, but I wouldn't advise it.

Maybe test your tap water then put the rock in a bucket of water let it sit a couple of weeks then test the water again and see if anything has changed. it looks like granite to me but cant be sure.

Fair comment, the reason I am still considering it is that most of it did nothing, if I had put a couple of drops of vinegar on, it would have done nothing, it just there were a couple of tiny areas with a few boubles, which are probably contamination.

That's a good idea, I think I'll give it a try, at least there is no risk that way.

If you find that its ok just run boiling water over it or soak it for a few minutes in boiling water this should kill any germs on it . Glad I could help.
