Please Help

hello, i know it sounds wrong and bad but keep in mind that there are other fish in the tank.

so a day or two ago i realized my fishes mouth was getting "swollen" and it seems to have gotten worse and i believe it's cotton mouth and seems far along to the point of no return and was wondering the best and fastest way to uthenize a fish.

please don't complain or tell me it's wrong i just want to now prevent it's tanksmates from getting it.

If you're sure about this, I have used clove oil (Eugenia caryophyllaia) and (rubbing) alcohol twice before with no problem. That said, I'm not an expert on the subject.

This is basically the method I used. You can get the clove oil at a pharmacy or a health food/supplement store. You don't need to get the high quality stuff, just as long as it's pure clove oil and not an imitation. You have to go slow with this, as to not shock the fish. The alcohol is to insure the fish is dead before disposing of it, so that it cannot wake back up.

There are veterinary anesthetics out there but unless you are a vet or have connections with one, probably not the method for you.
I've read of other methods that are "easier" and/or "faster" but I did not mention them because I'm not too sure on how humane they are and have never tried them myself...

the lfs might tell you to put in the the freezer... dont. its not humane. you could take the fish out of the tank, put it in a plastic bag and throw it as hard as you can at a wall, making sure it goes head first. sounds rediculous, but it is the fastest way to do it. sorry about the future loss.
