Hi Everyone.
I’m setting up my first salt water tank. I have a 44Gal Pentagon tank.
Can someone recommend a good filter and skimmer ?
Thank You

i would recommend some sort of a sump. make sure you know about them because once you're setup and realize you want or need a sump you'll be stuck between a rock and a hard place. drill that tank.
i didn't and am regretting it.

In my 55G I have one Rena XP2, 1000GPH of powerhead power, about 60LBS of live rock and 1 Coralife Superskimmer65. That's pretty much what I use for filtration. I also have 40LB of crush coral and 40 lbs of live sand.

with regards to a filter, if you get a small external filter, remove the conventional media as these only collect nitrates. get some media bags and fill it with carbon, nitrate minus and phos ban. the live rock you buy will act as the main filter for the tank if you keep the flow going through it.
