Please Help With Snails ....

im itching to get my 1st fish in the tank, but really want to add some snails too, the problem is ill be adding f8 puffs as well , so i need snails that the f8`s wont kill and eat , and ones that will be ok in a brackish set up ?

can anyone please PLEASE advise me ?

i know the f8`s do eat snails but im hoping once the snails i get , if any , are established and breeding then ill add the f8`s....

From my experience, anything in a shell will be devoured by my 2 F8's so I think you're out of luck there I'm afraid!

Best to set up a separate tank for your snails and add them to the F8 tank when feeding

i went ahead and ordered 5 horned nerite snails .....ill add them to my tank when they arrive , with my bumble bee goby`s , once they have settled in , they might even breed, but ill only add my 2 f8`s once the snails are comfortable in their new home , ill let you know what happens ! , if the f8`s eat them , ill hold 3 back and set them up in another tank , but the f8`s at the LFS are TINY babies , if i add those after the snails they might not bother .....

My F8s didn't care what size the snails were and if they were too big to crunch up whole, they just sucked as much of the meat out of the shells as they could and left the rest to go bad.

I'd get lots of caves and nooks and crannies in the tank if oyu want the best chance of breeding for your BBGs but don't be shocked if they do breed and the F8s eat the babies.

well im hoping ill be ok, if not , like i said , ill put 3 in another tank

and to be honest i don't want the bumbles breeding , if they do and the babies get eaten , well all i can say to that is, lets wait and see
