So i recently bought a farlowella acus and immediaty he started to eat the algae off plants. 2 days later he ate alot of algae but there is still some left and hes just sitting on the bottom under the shade of driftwoodf for hours in the same position and this is worrying me i did a water change just in case and no difference please help me ive gotten attached to him :(

farlos are just plain lazy. They , regularly don't move.

Also the odds it is actually an acus are about 10,000 to 1 against. It is more likely a vittata.

This fish is highly endangered and could easily become extinct in the next twenty years. Although numerous aquarium books show photos labelled as Farlowella acus they are most likely all incorrect. It is very doubtful that this fish has ever been exported for the aquarium trade.

interesting looking fish.

I like your stone wall terrace, did you make it yourself?

Haha i love the pics :D Congrats on the new babies :)

Yes I made the walls myself. That tank ran for just over 11 years and was my high light co2 added tank. I took it down at the end of last year.

All the adults and babies are long gone. Those pictures are about 5 or 6 years old. Of all the fry I have been given by my various fish, the farlo babies were the most difficult of all to keep alive and raise.
