Hello there
Well it's been awhile since I've been on here but i was wondering if you could help me. While doing a water change today I noticed one of my male kribensis looks pretty bad. His left eye seems to be swollen and his colouring doesn't seem quite right and all he does it sit in his cave :-( Was wondering if anyone could help me out with what to do with him? I have tried to get some picks of the guy but it's hard as he will not leave his cave, but here are the best ones I could get.
Any help much appreciated.

I recently treated a similar-ish looking patch on my Hypoptopoma catfish with 0.5g/l sea salt and full dose Myxazin. If you can isolate him in a QT, or you know none of his tankmates are sensitive to salt, you could raise the salt levels by 0.5g/l daily upto 3g/l. Kribs are very salt tolerant, they can be found in brackish waters.

To me, both eyes look like they are bulging out, which suggest bacterial "popeye." The Myxazin treatment should help that too.

While Myxazin is a good bactericide for most external disorders both eyes being affected indicates an internal disorder, best treated with an antibiotic.
