Hi
my tank has been setup for a month today
in this time i've only done 2 water changes (every 2 weeks)
but now iam stepin mi up to once a week with a siphon 1 a month,is this good?
please reply coz ive gotta do a sipno/water change today and if iam over doing it
then please tell me :*)

Doing water changes once a week is fine. If you do water changes weekly you should have no problems changing a pretty large percentage. The problem arises with a poorly maintained tank & a large water change. The PH of the really old water in the poorly maintained tank rarly matched the new water, causing a sudden PH change and a shock to the fish. Some of my tanks get a 50% water change weekly, and they do great. Some folks with discus do larger water changes than that more often. IMO doing frequent water changes is the most important thing to keeping fish healthy.

To be honest id say do more, youve had ur tank one month and added alot of fish if you sigis correct and is the tank in question.

Id do a partial water change twice a week and vacuum atleast once a week, twice is better.

Do you have a test kit?

Has your tank gone through a full cycling process?
