Two days ago I bought, against my better judgement a rather skinny copperband - I've got a few juicy bits of aptaisia that I thought would fatten him up. He hasn't eaten anything since he arrived, I feed the tank brine shrimp and yesterday soaked it in garlic but that didn't entice him. He did hang around the rocks and pick occasionally, so I put it down to stress etc and hoped for the best.

This morning however I found him upside down in the bottom corner of the tank, I thought je was dead but he's just very weak. He'll right himself occasionally and swim for a bit but then kinds 'lies down' on the sand bed or rocks. he seems to be breathing heavier that I remember. He's only tiny and like I said, skinny.

Can anyone help - should I put him through the stress of a hospital tank? And if so what should I do/buy for treatment.

Thanks, any advice would be greatly appreciated

Sounds like hes too far gone and I would just leave him be. Copperbands are known for being really difficult to get tp eat at first. Chances are hes not eaten in a while due to stress before you bought him so you where on a looser before he even got in your tank. Try him on some live food if you can get your hands on some as soo as. Its the one thing Ive found will tempt most fish , even the very weak.

with copperbands being poor feeders i asked my supplier to show me mine being fed frozen shrimp before i payed for him, sorry mate i think you were on a loser from the off
