Hi,

It worked before but not this time.Algea Blennie and Hawkfish bad!!!!!

In one of my previous tanks there was no problem Hawkey was fine with everyone(I don't have small fish in these tanks) umm except for my Algea Blenny (who actaully was quite big).Any way saw this Hawkfish a couple of weeks ago and thought he would go in ok.My poor little Benny never ame out of his house , Algea started to grow over front of tank.Realiused what it was, tried to catch Hawk(no chance) and alas poor little Benny has died, starvation and stress I guess,

Please don't shout at me just passing on a disaster story so that it might help someone else

sadly we can never be 100% sure how fish will react around their tankmates. We read book on how they will interact with each other etc but sadly these fish dont read the same book and quite often dont follow the rules. :*)

Whilst its safe to say that most fish will react in a predictable manner to their family and species its also correct to assume that they are all also individuals with personalities of their own just like the human race. You will probably find that if you had a different hawkfish then the blenny would ot have had problems, its simply bad luck im afraid and not anyones fault. :*)
