My tank has only just got rid of internal bacteria and fungus and now i think they have got whitespot. Quite a lot of the fish are rubbing themselves against the rocks and my red spotted severum is covered in white specks. I have treated the tank with protozin and aquarium salt, have upped the temperature to 82 and turned all the lights out. I have to treat the tank on days 1,2,3 and 6 but i have heard you have to treat whitespot for 14 days so when do i have to treat after the 6 days. Also i have added salt today so when will i have to dose again with salt.

Keep to the same thread or its gets comfusing.

Does it say to do a water change after 6 days and run some black carbon before you can retreat.

Need to know which fish you have in the tank where the salt is concerned.
You only get salt out of the tank by doing water changes.

I bet you had ich first and the other things you just treated were secondary infectios caused by the ich that was hiden in the gills of the fish.

Don't add salt if you are useing other treatment this will cause stress on the fish. Use one or the other. All treatments for ich with the exception of copper based ones need to be done daily. For best results do a large water change everyday right before you add the next does.

Yes it's a pain but it will help a lot. Fresh water will keep the fish immune system. Also the more water changes the less ich will be in your tank because you are physicaly removing them.

Keep this up for a week and you will see a differance. Keep treating for another week to make sure you got it all.

Good luck treating ich is a pain in the butt.
