Playing God

My boys LOVE it when I come to their tankside - they swim over and say hello - Amos even flares at me as if he's not seem me in months, even if I was just staring in at him 5 minutes before.

I hadn't really thought about the fact that we DO completely control their lives, but we do. That's why I try to give them the best environment they can live in.

It's very similar to the treatment of children, in my opinion. They don't really have a say in the matter, per say.

I know right where you are coming from Angry, the whole idea of treating others as you would like to be treated though many times have I wished I was one of my fish just swimming around my tank w/out having to worry about anything  . It took me two years of thinking about fish to finally get a tank. I had to talk myself into it in order to get over the guilt and I still feel guilty sometimes. Though I have to say it's easier on the heart to stick with pre-owned fish. Maybe these feelings just go along with being a veg. :)

i' say that life for fish with a GOOD fishkeeper could be better than the wild, no stress food given without hunting, clean water, no predators.
But th problems start imo when a BAD fishkeeper is involved
