I have a red wag platy and a blue wag platy at the fish store they were said to both be female but when I got a closer look at them the red one was female but the blue one was male are they going to have babies. If so how many and how can you tell if the female in pregnant?

Livebearers will always have babies....

The female will get fatter and fatter until she 'squares off' (that means her belly will get so big it has 'corners'), then she'll have the fry a day, or maybe two, later.

She'll probably only have a few, if she's quite young, but mature females can have 30-40 fry, every month. They can also store sperm, so even you remove the male, she can still have more fry!

You should always keep at least two, and preferably three, females to every male, as all male livebearers are, to put it bluntly, sex mad...

Totally agree with Fluttermoth. I'd recommend if you are going to get a mixture of the genders in platies get at least 2 females, 3 would be a lot better. Like Flutter says, male livebearers are sex mad
If you don't want babies then you're better getting all male or making sure you have a few fast shoaling fish like tetra's or barbs in the tank as these will keep the number of fry you get down easily.
In short, your female will have babies every month while the male is in there but your male will harass her and stress her out if there is only her and no other females for him to chase.

Update: i got a sunburst female platy so my other female wouldn't be harassed

How big is the tank? Cherry barbs need at least a 2ft tank cause they are active... I had 7 in a 3ft tank and I wouldn't put them in any less personally as they were all over the tank constantly.
