Hey I have a question.
Can Sunset Platys and Mickey Mouse Platys mate?
You see, I have 1 Sunset Platy, 1 Mickey Mouse Platy, (2 female guppies just recently got
and 4 guy guppies)
And I looked in my tank 1 day and noticed baby guppies, so I pulled out the 9 of them.
Than I looked another day and pulled out 8 other babies, but they were a different color.
Are these perhaps just a younger version of the guppies, or are these the baby platys? They are grey
While the others are orange-yellow

All of the platies can and will mate wth each other, they are just different colors of the same fish. All mollies can also mate with each other although they are really 3 different species that we call mollies. All 3 are close enough to mate successfully. All color variations of guppies can and do also mate with each other.

Not sure on your plattys but are they male or female females can store sperm for up to 6 pregnancies

as for guppies you can get 2 different colours from 1 drop

All said you need to sort out your stocking ASAP you need 2-3 female for every male so if you have 4 male guppies you need at least 8 females and if you have 1 female 1 male platty you nedd another female- they bead at a phenomonal rate so if you don't have space you are best going back to the shop and swapping the females for males. If you don't sort out your stock the males will hound the females.

YOu need to look at the shape of them...this is not an accurate way of telling but it works roughly: The guppy babies will be quite a long shape whereas the platy fry will be shorter and fatter in comparison.
