I've heard that livebearers are overbred and very disease prone. Is that true? Are there any strains that are more hardy than others?

It's true. I've raised many livebearers, and I can tell you mollies and especially guppies are very inbred. They are bred in some places in poor conditions and they don't cull fry enough to keep all guppies pure and healthy. Platys aren't as disease-prone as mollies and guppies, though. I think they are the most hardy out of the three. Swordtails are very hardy as well. :)
