Platys Eating Neons

my mam had 3 gouarmis, 6 platys , and 7 neons in her fish tank they have all been inn the tank for a year with no problems. but yesterday when i dropped her at home we noticed one of the patys with a neon in its mouth and no sign of the other neons. any ideas why this could of happend all of a sudden?

It's possible that the neon was already dead when the platy decided to eat it. Most fish will eat other fish after they have died

it just seems strange that all of the neons are gone.

by no sign of the other neons do you mean all them are gone?

I think the platy would have to be pretty big to have eaten the neons to be honest. I can pretty much guarantee it wasn't the platies that killed them. Fish will eat other dead fish, it's just a fact

To eat a neon, you would have to have very small neons, and a very large platy.
