I've had my 35l tank for around 8 months now and have been doing really well - had loads of babies (hurrrraaaayyyy).
Lately, my fish are dying - all my females are gone :((
Yesterday I lost a male after he started struggling to get to the top of the tank and had begun to swim on his side, he sort of sank...
I have another now which just lies on the bottom of the tank flapping his fins and really struggling - he'll still trying to get up for food but he just isn't right. Any ideas?? I dont know what to do with regards to nitrates, ph's or anything like that.
I've seen somebody else writing about feeding their fish peas??? Are these normal, everyday peas or something especially for fish??
Please help me....

I suspect what has happened is that as your platies have bred, your tank has become more and more over-crowded until now your filter is unable to cope with the load of fish.

Do a lot of water changes (make sure the water is warmed and dechlorinated); starting with 25% daily and look at getting rid of some of the fish; some shops will take them off you; how many do you think are in there?

Yes, normal, lightly cooked, shelled peas are a great food for fish; they need their veggies just like us, and peas keep their digestive system in good order.

Went from 6 fish to about 15, did wonder about filter tbh... we've been doing full water changes every 2 weeks but i've been cleaning the filter every 3 days with a toothbrush and tank water...
I've only 5 fish now as I've given some to friends etc.
I'm just going to cook up some frozen peas as I didn't know that - thanks x
