Platy Wanting My Gouramis?!?!?!

ok, just got a pair of dwaf gouramis today, noticed something very odd going on......in the shop these 2 were very close but now they have got into my tank odd things have started to happen....my 2 male platys seem to be following the female gouramis around alot...like swiming side by side with her, more so my dominate platy, but still should i be worried? would the really try and mate? i cant be having hybrids!!! lol thanks guys!

Livebearers: hormones with fins.

If you want to stop them doing that, get a few female platys.. and no, the two species can't cross. Eventually the male gourami will give the platys a beating up, once he realises they are trying to steal his woman.. I wouldn't worry about it unless the female gourami starts looking harassed.

Male platies are very randy and they may think the gourami loks a bit similar so they're trying their luck! As the poster above said, get 2 or 3 female platies and then watch them!!!!
