Platy Sexing Trouble, Please Help

i recently bought two platies and the clerk told me they were a male and a female. i did some research at home and realized i needed more females, so i went back and asked for two more females. the clerk assured me he had given me two females but now that i have them home im not too sure. they dont look like the first female, but are a bit different than the first male...any help?

It's hard to see in the photo's you supplied.
As females and flatten their anal fin which it looks like is happening in your photo's

Looking at pic one it looks like 3 males (all to right) but cant be sure for the reason i already stated

You clearly have 1 male sest seen in pic 2

Here u can clearly see a male platy with the pointed anal fin called a gonopodium.
This is the only way yo be sure, If it's rounded it's a female.

the way i see it is


male guppys and platys have a willy its the anal fin, it looks like a stick, were the female as the anal fin under her belly.

by the pic's you have put on thay look like males

Looks like 3 males and 1 female to me,at which the female will be hounded by all the males,so if you don't want fry take the female back,if you do then take 2 males back and replace with females

I can't tell from your pictures but these pictures may make it easy for you to tell them apart.

This is a related species of fish that is sexed the same way. In the male, the anal fin, the one next to where they eliminate waste, is shaped into a more or less line shape that is used as a sex organ. This is a male.

In the female, the anal fin remains fan shaped or triangular shaped, you get to choose the right word. It looks like on this female of the same species.

The seconed one is 100% male.

From the first pic the top right is the same fish, the left hand one is a female.
However the two lower fish it's not clear as I've already described before.

This is why you need to sex them, it's quite simple. Males have a pointed anal fin which oldman and myself have posted.
If oldman and i cant sex them i'm not sure how the other's can be so sure.
Remember a rounded anal fin (the bottom fin near the bum) is a female and pointed fin is a males

You can surly see clearer than us.

well the other two look just like the second picture, except the color intensity of that fin. so i will deffinitely be getting more females as i am rather attached to all of the ones i have now and dont want to exchange them for females. thank you for all the help! im new to all of this and am finding that i really enjoy it!
