I am having yet another problem with yet another platy.
I have no idea at all what the problem is, I am just sure there is one as she has stopped behaving in her usual quirky ways.
Water is 0 for ammonia and nitrite an 20 for nitrate (I've not tested the rest at the moment).
She has taken to hiding more than usual... normal for her is to hide when I am looking in and peek out from around the bogwood... she sort of hates me and will only come out for food. But... now when I am sitting across the room I can see that she is either in hiding behind the bogwood or is resting on the bottom in the far right corner (like now).
I gave her a thorough look over during feeding. I see absolutely nothing wrong with her. She is not pregnant (she is empty now). She is eating and pooping normally. Her color looks perfect, her fins and scales look perfect, no sign of ich or parasites, she is not clamping at any time that I have seen. There have not been any fish added to the tank... no other fish are doing anything unusual.
So... I guess that isn't much to go on... but something is wrong and something needs fixing but I haven't the foggiest clue what it is.
I am really frustrated with keeping platies... I feel like there is barely a break before I have even more problems with one or another.
