I have put him in a tank on his own and used methyline blue I hope this will help poor little fish

yes and no

He was on his own rather than aside there were three other Platys and Gouramis and eleven neons.

He is now swimming head down and tail end in the air.

I don't hold much for him.

Can't help thinking put him out of his misery

The blue makes the tank so dark

the neons may have nipped at his tail, can you put him in his own tank until he heals?
If you dont think it is finrot, you can use melafix instead to help him heal, which wont colour your tank, and wont harm your other fish.
can you post a photo?

he's in the hospital tank on his own.

I don't really know he's still there almost standing but fins are still flapping nad he moves if you come too close to the tank.

Poor little fish, I do feel he must be in pain.

I will do a water change later. Other wise I am trial and error knowing what to do.

50% water changes daily, and melafix. After a week you can cut the water changes back to every second or third day. This is all I do for angels with fin damage, pairing activity can cause some nasty fin damage.

When angels sort out a pecking order, and pair up.

So platys do the same ?
I have three left will it happen to another ?

Would I be best to buy more I think the Pictus ate the other three I originally had. It could be he had had a bite and this is a sore that is now healing itself.

head down and tail up, i just had that and its very fustrating, just keep a very close eye, make the tank warmer 80-82 and aireate the tank as much as posable, but cheack that the medications will work in warmer water.
anyway keeping a close eye is the key, dont overlook anyting as when in the healing process a fish i very suseptiable to a secondary infecton.
get a testing kit (is you dont already) cheak that the water is okay, you want as gooder water quality as posable, cheak that the "tail" is not discoloring/spreading discolering, if he gets worse like loss of balance (constant sidways roling, floating when still breathing) then seek advise on what to do next. my result, and i must say my result, i do not say do this unless it is a inivadable death is euthineasure in as nicer way as posable.
hope it works out for you tho good luck, ive got my fingers crosser for you.
