I've been raising a single platy for about a month and a half now, had 3 or 4 that I found in the main tank but the others didn't survive. Anyway the one I have is starting to grow a bit and is probably just short of 1cm at the moment.

What size should it be before I can let it brave the main tank and not get eaten? I don't have anything in the tank bigger than the platy's and a few penguin tetras and Rummy noses. The rest is tiny tetras and cory's.

Thanks.

ok well it is safe to release them when they are about 2 times bigger then the other fishs mouth in the tank this is what the rule i go by if you post a pic of the fry then others and i could give a better answer

I can't get very good photos of my fish, my camera doesn't like to do it. They just come out with blurs whenever I try :(
