I sold off some of my mature creamsicle mollies at a club auction yesterday. Altogether, I got enough for 3 trios to pay my fish food bill for about a year. They started out a year ago as the fry in my full cycle post. I also spent a fair bit buying a new starter colony of Girardinus metallicus, black chins, and some X montezumae juveniles. I will be going to another club auction in July and will probably pack a few more trios to that one, I still have almost 40 of those fry and they are crowding my 55 gallon grow out tank. Pet shops are a poor place to take surplus fish. You will do much better, in terms of paying you for value, by selling your fish at club auctions. Around here, most clubs don't expect you to join the club to sell your fish. Club auctions are fund raisers for the club. Everyone wins at an auction. You pay less than you would in a store, you get a fair price for your surplus fish and the club gets funding to pay for a meeting place and the speakers who come in.
