My Tricolour platies have been in my tank for around a month. By now, I would have expected them to have given birth, seeing as they are all housed with one male and they were housed with probably around 10 males at the LFS.

The three females had a dark gravid spot, but now on all of them, some of it appears to have turned pink(ish). I wouldn't say they are all huge, but I have noticed this change overnight. What does the change of colour mean?

Are some females quite small (in terms of tummy size) when giving birth? I guess it's variable?

Thanks!

Platies are seldom small right before a drop. They tend to be as robust as a molly in most cases. I have a thread that follows one of my mollies from one drop to the next with lots of pictures of the development. You can reach it from a link in my signature area.
