k so i just got my first fish tank. its 10 gallons and 3 weeks ago i went to the pet store and bought 3 fish. 1 male black molly, 1 male guppy and a female sunburst platy. an hour after releasing them my platy had 13 fry. ive done lots of research and am now keeping the fry in a breeding net and they have all survived:) i was just wondering at what age should i be able to tell their genders and start trying to split them up ? cause i honestly dont want anymore babies and my friends with fish tanks are willing to take a bunch off my hands:) thanks

Around 3months, but this isn't always the case, some do take longer.

If kept in the net they will take alot longer than if they had an open swimming area. Are you able to set up a smaller tank say something around 30 litres? This would enable them to grow at a quicker rate. :)
