ok well i have like 30 Platy fry and i have just left them to fend for themselves in the tank. None of the fish care for them and leave them alone. due to the size of the tank and the good water quality my platy fry are growing in a much faster rate than before and are actually thriving instead of dying. Now i dont know what i will do with all of them when fully grown  . I want to sell them to a LFS but i dont know if they will buy them. they are pure breed platys from a very trusted fish store and are more on the expensive side. well mabye if i have a ton live i might even give some away for free to anyone who is interested. well i said alot so please feel free to add any comments on mabye getting some or where i could sell them. if you live near Oak brook Illinois please tell me if you know anywhere that will buy.

Thanks
~Ryan

Offer them up here and other fish forums. If you have pictures of them, people may want them. Most stores won't give money for them, but may give you a small credit for the fish. It's better than nothing.

what types of platty? i'm in bolingbrook and i just restarted a 29 tall and have 4 sunburst and 4 tiger barbs and plan on getting more platties.

well i am goin back to the store i bought them from today and will make a note of it to make sure i find out what breed of platy i have. but for now all i can say is it is yellow/orange (lol i know thats not saying much) but it was like 6 dollars (expensive to me ffor tropical fish.

this is what they look like (the parents) the fry still need to grow for like 2-3 months mabye.

that looks like a sunburst to me. Let me know what you want for the, i've got 4 now(and only paid 2.99 ea i think) and would love to add more.
also what store do you go to in your area? i'm looking for good mom and pop stores, so far Scott's is the cat's @ss, and worth the commute.

That's not just a Sunburst Platy. Sunbursts just have orange and yellow coloring. That has a dark section too. I don't know the name for that type of coloration. Great looking fish.

guess i looked before my coffee kicked in, i still would love to take some fry off your hands

lol i bought the fish at scottsthats where i buy all my fish! (bet store and im gonna work there in fall, can't watit!! well i still havnt been able to go to scotts to see what breed it is but im gonna go soon. just look once in a while and i will also try to get some picks of the fry though the are still littler than one inchalso tropiquatics (not sure on spelling) is ok. not the best but decent for cichlids (my 55 gallon) and has some exotic tropical fish like the chocolate gourami.
