A couple of weeks ago I found and rescued a platy fry from my filter. I have housed it in a breeder net within the tank, but it still looks to small to release into the main tank, is a max time for how long it can live in here? and roughly what size should it be?
It just does not seem to be growing and Im worried about it being in there too long

It's based on size. If it's the only thing in the breeder net, you have a good amount of time before it needs to come out. It should be fine until it's large enough to swim on its own.

bet when you found him you were supprised i had the same thing happen only with a male guppy thought he had died as i lost alot of fish at the time to very high ph found him 3-4 weeks later in me external filter as for your ickle one he should be ok in the breeding net try and get an off cut f a plant or a fake plant you can pull storks off and put it in there for a bit of protection then hell feel a bit more secure and less stress full in there

Thanks and Yes it was a huge surprise to find him there, in the dark poor little thing.
changing the subject totally I have to tell you that everytime I see your avatar it makes me laugh, where did you find it?

I have just purchased a tank divider on ebay for my tank so I can seperate the fry from their cannibalistic mothers  .
They will have so much more space than my current crappy fry net can provide.
