i feed my platies high quality flake food, bloodworm and daphnia. i know livebearers need some vegetable matter and they do eat algea in the tank. can anywone tell me a vegetable they can eat ive tried loads of thing and they dont bother even nibbling at it!

Remove the shells from cooked peas and smoosh it up a bit. Cooked zuchini works well. too. They won't tackle the outside, but soft inner parts they love.

Mine eat cooked peas, broccoli (cooked+chopped), spinach (ditto), sprouts (ditto), broad beans (ditto) and the insides of lightly cooked courgette. Basically, they don't have the kind of rasping teeth that plecos do, so they need something they can get into.

thanks - my platies love cooked inner peas! sometimes its hard to get it small enough for the to fit it in their mouths but when they do they love it!
