Platy - Do I Retreat Again ?

If the filters are rippping the surface well don't always need an airstone.
Is no7 the anti slime and velvet med.
I would do a water change and run some black carbon for a day before adding another parasite med.
Sometimes whitespot meds can be used on velvet.

yes 7 is anti slime and velvet med which also cures flukes so if there are any of those around will get them aswell
he done water change and put the zeolite and carbon back in so will treat tank tomoz luckily pets at home were open til 8 so he went and got the treatment

Does it say the med treat flukes.
The med will kill adult flukes but you need to catch the eggs so this means that you have to treat up to 4 weeks to kill the young ones as they hatch to break the cycle.

o right thanks wilder will do that
also should i turn the temp up tonight ?

The fish that are gasping might not make it i'm afraid.
Once parasites affect the gills and they labour breath they very rarely make it.
Good luck.

fingers crossed they will - well i certainly learned my lesson fo not having a quarentine tank :(
will update when all treated :)

have been treating the tank for 2 weeks now but there is still some scratching though all the velvet colouring has gone off the fish
all poos are still normal and fish are looking healthier none left with clamped fins or gasping
I have lost one minnow , one platy and one guppy all of these had clamped fins before they died - though the platy that had all the gasping has actually survived and is now very heavily pregnant due any day i'd say

Would you recommend re treating or trying another treatment when its due on Tuesday

Thanks Sarah xxxxx

It might be the med that making them flick as it can irratate there skin.
Velvet hard to get rid off so I would treat for another week just to make sure its gone.
