hi there
i usually only leave my live bearers 12 hrs in breeding box if no fry i release her to stop her getting stressed
read up in the livebearer section how to tell when your livebearers about to drop

if my female is only going to drop about 2-5 will she be as big as the one in the photos?
because i see the fry in her. i can see 1 set of eyes. and i also would be very happy if i had some fry swimming around :)

its very rare for platies to have so little fry in my experience even a young small female produces at least 10, if you can see eyes she is not ready

So that they are not kept in a small area for ages, and they can swim about.

It's better not to use breeder boxes/traps at all IMO. They're just too small and stressful for the mother fish and can cause her to miscarry too.

A far better way is to have lots and lots of fine leaved plants like cabomba or elodea for the fry to hide in (the plural of 'fry' is 'fry' btw; it's like 'sheep' or 'deer')

thank you for all of the advice :thanks: i just got another 20 gallon tank im going to fill it with real plants for the fry. the best part is that the tank was free :yahoo:

Yay for free tanks!

Add some java moss, najas grass or guppy grass to that new tank and drop your heavy female in the tank. With any of those covers she should drop her fry with ease and leave most of the fry unmolested.
