So.... I started my platy only tank a week or so ago. I have two female platies, and then one had a bunch of babies.

Well... my platies don't like each other. In fact, they are only happy if I put one guppy in there.... so I have an all platy tank... with one guppy...

Is this normal? Why don't they want to be alone? They become happy when I put a guppy in there (doesn't matter which one either).

Platies are community fish. Abnormal behavior may come about in smaller groups. Adding another fish (your puppy, or another platy) will ears the tension and bring more normalcy. Also new fish in new tanksvestablish their hierarchy but they shouldn't fought for long.

That's good then... maybe once the babies are big enough to swim with them I can put my guppy (you said puppy! LOL) back with her own kind.

My orange and black platy is a whole lot better tempered than my cream and black platy. LOL

It would be interesting what would happen if you added a puppy to the tank! Ha ha ha ha
