Hi All
My female platy has just given birth to 61 fry. All fry are doing well at three days old, but the mum has now started clamping all her fins and looks really lethargic near the bottom of the tank. (Think i would be lethargic after having that many kids lol)
She seems happy to eat but just isn't herself. All water parimiters are fine and all other fish in the tank are happy.
Could it just be she is tired and or stressed after the bith?

She is stressed and tired more than likely. Make sure she is not harrassed by other fish/males specifically but I would not put her in a trap or anything as that will kill her. The best thing for serious breeders of fish is to keep the mom in a tank of her own for a week after the birth but not many of us can afford this.

Thanks a lot for the quick response I'll place her in her own tank for a week and see how she goes.
Thanks again :)
