hi

i currently have quite a few platies and mollies in the same 250l tank, was thinking about introducing some guppies, is this a bad idea as the other fish are much bigger than than these and may nip their fins?

thanks darren

No problem..... add them. livebearers are always so occupied chasing around fish of their own species, they ignore others. My heated pond (4ft x 4ft x 3ft deep) has only live bearers (guppies/Mollies/Platies & Swordtails) and they all thrive to the extent that I can use at least 50 of them per day as feeder fish to the Oscars and Angels and their numbers don't decrease. (maybe I should'nt have said that.... I know lots of people have a problem with feeder fish, but.....I recall Dr. Herbert Axelrod once said.."The best food for fish is fish")

thanks

you must have a lot of fish in that pond to feed ur oscars 50 per day! :hyper:

HAHHAHAHAHA

i neve runderstood why people use them as feeders, when you can be spending much less and get real feeders!

Hahhahaha or what's your name.... it's all in the food value for conditioning.... unless you're talking crayfish and caviar??

Sorry Omega and Dazsmith, I was'nt trying to be funny.......I mean I hav'nt got an "offset" for my fish so by feeding them, I've at least got a useful apply for the growing numbers and yes..... there are thousands of these in the pond and as my quote says...... "the best food for fish is fish"
