I had s look in your sig and your profile but I couldnt find a fish list. Just so we know and might make it easier to give advice, what type of fish are you trying to get to spawn? Maybe age of fish and a little tank detail also.

Or even better if you have a post with all these details just post the

ok sorry no problem 1st my tank is 4ft x18" x18"
and this is a list of tank mates i beleive they are all correct

aulonocara "blue neon" peacock x3 adult
yellow labs x3 juvinile
pseudtropheus saulosi x3 adult
pseudtropheus elongatus likoma x1 adult
ob zebras x3 juvinile

with a ratio of 1 male 2 female (not 100% certain)

From what I have read on breeding posts and in the C-F.com library I don’t think smooth surfaces will induce spawning. African lake cichlid in their natural environment either, spawn on sand, rough sand, stones or on large rock surfaces. I would think that it would be these surfaces that would accommodate spawning the most. I know from my experience that my male labs spawned on crushed coral in a depression made by the male and my male elongates “mpanga” has also made a similar depression and is busy courting the lovely females!!!!!

I wouldnt know as much about peacocks but I would think that they have the same breeding habits.

Anyones else want to comment on this?
