hey everyone :) my cycling has been driving me mad! over two weeks and my ammonia sloooowly creeps down

Just to give you some info on the tank. Using the API master test kit

House

PH:7.5
Nitrite:0

tank

Ph: 7.5
Ammonia: 1.5
Nitrite: 0.25
Nitrate: low << lost the card for it but looked at api one in store :p
Temperature: 28c

I'm using the "add and wait" method for my cycling, which for my 10g tank seems to have taken ages :(
The ammonia stalled for quite some time at 2 I found out that my filter wasn't working right, now that's fixed. As it's sitting at 1.5ppm. Should i now raise it back up to 3 - 4ppm?

Another question. I have this mini temple and a piece of moapi wood(which has been boiled for hours before going in) would that affect the rate of cycling?

This whole thing is so frustrating i might get some plastic fish and put them on a piece of string in the tank

cheers
dave

lol know what you mean. i used the tank as a form of decoration, playing with lights, and popping in a centre piece bit of deccor to brighten things up!

well i'm still a n00b so i doubt i'll have anything as fancy as the pros here:p wish i had gotten sand now!!

So should i top the tank with ammonia again?

You should use the 'feed your tank' cycle. This cycle works by you feeding your tank (not sure how much times). Fish food has Animonia witch will start the cycle but i'm not sure if it will take long. Check this link out. > http://www.fishlore.com/WaterChemistry.htm

lol the thing is i'm using the method in the fish cycling thread. I was wondering if i can get advice with regards to that?
