i just wanted to make sure if plastic drinking cups would be safe. They are the clear, cheap kind. I'm cutting them in half and using them as pots for some plants.
 
should be fine. I am not postitive though. I beliee it needs to be inert but I don't know what classifiees a certain plastic as inert.
 
Id place some tank water or dechlored water in a bucket and wash them thouroughly first. But generally, if its food safe its fish safe! :)
 
I use them every day either to defrost frozen food in before pouring it into the tank, pouring fresh dechlorinated water from the bucket into my 2.5 gallon tanks during water changes or as a splash guard for my python for water change on the big tanks.
